Hello Gorgeous! Want a cutting/charcuterie board that looks too good to use?

I called this "The Picasso" and makes a great gift for the painter or artist in the family.

This beautiful cutting/charcuterie board is made from Zebrawood. Zebrawood is an exotic hardwood from Africa that has natural stripes in differing colors (no stain or coloration is used in the pictures).

This personalized cutting/charcuterie board is completely handmade and finished. Makes an incredible wedding, shower, anniversary gift or just an amazing conversation piece for your home.

Size is approximately 12" x 7" x 3/4" thick. (Please note there may be slight discrepancies based on the cut of the wood, the planing to get a good-looking grain pattern, the sanding, or the nature of wood in general).

Get it however you like:
1. With no engraving.
2. With no engraving and upgrade with a wooden display stand.
3. Or the ultimate upgrade - engrave it with over 20+ different designs or come up with your own (just message me).

If you upgrade to the engraving, you receive the display stand as a free bonus!

As you probably know, there are tons of cutting/charcuterie boards on Etsy.
What makes mine different? Five things:

1.Made in the USA.
I make every board from the beginning in western Pennsylvania. Many other boards are made overseas in factories and simply laser engraved by the seller. When you buy from me, you are getting a completely handmade product.

2.Exotic woods.
If you look at Etsy, you see a common theme in cutting boards: maple, walnut, cherry. Why? These woods can be bought in any big box store or lumber yard because they are domestic woods. I use exotic woods that you can't find in a big box store to create a unique conversation piece that looks dramatically different than the typical maple, walnut, or cherry board. I love those domestic woods too. I just love exotic hardwood even more, and I think you will too! And don't worry, the company I buy my exotic hardwood from is located in the US and sources the wood in a sustainable way so as not to erode the natural forests of Africa, South America, or Central America where the exotic wood is from. None of the woods I use are listed as an endangered species.

3.Exotic shapes-
Cutting/charcuterie boards can be a bit utilitarian in their design. I try to break free from the blandness by providing unique shapes and styles that create conversation and dialogue. My goal is to make boards so unique and beautiful, you wouldn't want to use and would rather display!

4.I finish and treat the board before shipping.
If you look through other listings, you'll see that the burden of treating the cutting board is often placed on the buyer. Typically, order sellers send a vial of mineral oil for you to put on. Treating a cutting board is a delicate process, and in the wrong hands that could be a recipe for disaster. It's not as simple as just wiping on some oil and wiping it off.

All my boards are treated before I ship so you don't have to do anything yourself or deal with messy oil. They go through two treatments over a two-day period to allow for total immersion of the board and the oxidation of the oil into the fibers of the wood. One treatment penetrates the wood to bring out the grain; the other treatment is a wax that protects the outer layers.

5.I use a special cutting oil blend!
Look at other listings. 99% of them use just mineral oil to treat the board. While mineral oil is food safe; it is also a distillate from petroleum and as such can evaporate quicker over time.

I use a special blend of mineral oil, coconut oil, beeswax and Vitamin E. Coconut Oil and beeswax are all natural, nontoxic, and FDA approved. It's a much better treatment for your board. The coconut oil/mineral oil/beeswax blend permeates the fibers of your board and solidifies in ways that just mineral oil cannot. The result is a longer lasting shine and protection for your board.

(In rare instances, people with very sensitive nut allergies may be affected by coconut oil. Reach out if you have concerns.)

PLEASE NOTE – these are face-grained boards. A face grain board is made by cutting the long (face) of the wood and glued together with another face to preserve the woods natural striations.

This is different than edge grained boards, which are made by cutting strips of wood and gluing them together with the edges facing upward. Face grain boards may show knife marks more easily and frequently than edge glued boards depending on the hardness of the wood used.

I make face-grained boards because I love to see the patterns that the woods naturally create when put together side by side. It gives it a very rustic look that fits with mission and goal of my shop.

However, if you plan to do heavy cutting (daily use), an edge glued board is probably more suited for you as they tend to be thicker and better for both the knife and the board. The face-grained boards I sell are probably better suited for regular cutting use or to use as charcuterie/cheese boards or presentation boards for dips and snacks.

Also - it goes without saying but wood has natural variations in its grain and pattern. Each cutting board I make is a unique one-of-a-kind product.

Be sure to select which design you'd like in the personalization box. Don't like any of those? no problem - I'll work with you to make something you want and like!
