Product code: OOAK Soft Merino Slouchy Chunky Bulky Seed Stitch Faux Fur Pompom Beanie Toque - order Hand Dyed Pastel Mint Seafoam B&W - Adult Ladies' - 22"

This super squishy one-of-a-kind slouchy beanie was hand knit using brightly-colored hand dyed yarn in mint green from HauteKnitYarn, held together with shibori-inspired black and white hand dyed yarn from WIPyarns. It is topped with a fluffy removable black and white faux fur pompom. Each package will ship with care instructions, as well as a free lavender sachet and sample of my favorite fragrance-free wool wash. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO LAVENDER and I will make sure to keep it out of your package.

All of my completed wooly knits are hand washed and then stored with lavender sachets, to repel moths. While the knits do not retain a strong lavender scent, I mention this in case customers are extra-sensitive to it. Additionally, my home is smoke-free and pet-free (not that I wouldn't like to have a pet, someday).

Circumference of model head is 22".

Yarn details:

Dyer: HauteKnitYarn
Weight: Bulky
Content: 100% Superwash Merino Wool
Colorway: Jaded (this is a bright tonal mint green colorway)

and

Dyer: WIPyarns
Weight: Sock
Content: 75% Superwash Merino Wool, 25% nylon
Colorway: Cats 'n Bats (this is a shibori-inspired colorway of primarily black with small spots of bright white)

Basic care instructions:

1. Untie the pompom and set it aside (I've never tried washing pompoms but it might be OK to hand wash it separately and air dry it).

2. Pour a small amount of wool wash (or gentle cleanser, like baby shampoo) into a bowl that is large enough to contain your hat and fill the bowl about 2/3 of the way with cool water.

3. Gently submerge and hand wash your hat (try to stick to gentle squeezing and avoid a lot of agitation). Then, leave your hat to soak for about 15 minutes.

4. Remove your hat from the bowl and gently squeeze out as much of the water as you easily can. If the hat has not order grown very much from its original size, you may lay it flat to dry on a towel. Otherwise, it is safe to dry it in a dryer, on a low setting, inside out (by itself, so as not to agitate it).

5. Once the hat is dry, the pompom can be replaced--I use a tapestry needle to help attach the strings.
