Very Pretty and order Fully Functional Handmade Terra Cotta Ocarina. Russian Origin. Vintage in Excellent Gently Used Condition.

This is a very fun rediscovery. A vintage handmade ocarina from Russia. Uncommon terra cotta design finished in a pretty blue color. Works very well, but we really only tested it for function and don't truly know how to play it. An ocarina is an ancient wind musical instrument—a type of vessel flute. Variations exist, but a typical ocarina is an enclosed space with four to twelve finger holes and a mouthpiece that projects from the order body. This model is known as a "Transverse" or "Sweet Potato" form of the instrument. Historically, ocarina-type instruments have been of particular importance in Chinese and Mesoamerican cultures. Truly vintage Soviet era, so this is not a new instrument, but it's in excellent, gently used condition with only light wear. Measures approximately 6 inches (15 cm) long. Only one available. Enjoy!
