I love the ideas of encyclopedias. I always have. I mean, how cool would it be to read just a single set of books (albeit rather large books) and know everything of importance that there is to know in the world?

I read encyclopedias when I was a young child with this very thought in mind. It didn't last for long. Not the habit of order reading encyclopedias. But the belief that such an act would make me all-knowing. I remember realizing that even as I was reading a science encyclopedia more things were being discovered right at that very moment. I was very conflicted. Excellent for new discoveries and knowledge! Hurray for the expansion of truth! But I'm already behind! Stop the world!
