I believe this dog was made by Zoo-line though it's not marked. Some Zoo-line figures had labels that fell off at some point. He's a near-exact copy of "Oscar", the jointed dog designed by Hans Bølling of Denmark. Zoo-line produced near-exact version of other Danish figures as well as some that were just inspired by those of Danish designers.
This guy order is a couple of inches bigger than the real Oscar (shown here but not included). He's made of solid oak and all four of his legs are jointed but they are pretty still and he's probably best left in a sitting position. His head is glued in place.
His original ears were thin vinyl that was very brittle and completely curled up. I had some thin, soft leather in the exact same shade of brown so I decided to give him back his original look, using the original ears as patterns. The tuft of white wool on top is a replacement too. I'll include the original ears.
I'm not positive what the reason is for the hole on his head but it's a lot like how the Zoo-Line Donkey has a hole for a pair of small nail scissors that look like glasses. I don't have any little scissors so I made him some half-eye glasses out of wire. They come off easily if you prefer him without glasses.
There's a small chip on the edge of one back foot and some other very minor dings here and there but otherwise he's in very good shape.
I have a lot of other Zoo-line figures listed and am always happy to combine shipping!
