Thistle is the national flower of Scotland. No one knows exactly how this came about, but there is a legend that surely could explain it. Scots warriors were saved from ambush by an invading Viking army when one of the enemies stepped on the spiky plant. His anguished cry roused the slumbering warriors who vanquished the invader and adopted the thistle as their national symbol.

Amethyst, the birth stone for February, is a stone of spiritual protection and purification. It cleanses one's energy field of negative influences and attachments. It creates a resonant shield of spiritual Light around the body. The shades of the stone might differ slightly from the pendent on the picture, since every stone is different and all natural.
