In a more delicate era, lady-like gloves were worn to accentuate the feminine appeal of an outfit. Now that same order look can accentuate a setting, whether it be a wedding venue or a home. My sister, Patty, first made these beautiful, decorated gloves when we were doing craft shows in the 1980s. I thought I would bring them back in 2014!
A bouquet of vintage silk flowers and dried material adorns this long vintage white glove. A vintage ivory ribbon suspends the glove, perfect for decorating a tree branch or fence post at a garden wedding. They are lovely in a grouping, suspended at different lengths or on the back of a chair or church pew. One of my favorite displays is of multiple gloves suspended from a trellis or arbor that forms the ceiling in an outdoor wedding. Another idea is using multiple gloves for a curtain valance in front of sheers or lace curtains for a nostalgic look.
This long glove is decorated with two silvertoned bracelets, rose, white, beige and pink flowers, green leaves and mosses. The bouquet is viewable on all sides. The glove has beautiful detail midway on the front of the glove. It measures about 18 inches from the top of the bouquet to the fingertips. The ribbon is about 16 inches in length to the top of the bouquet. The bouquet measures about 9 inches in width and is anchored to the glove with Styrofoam, so the ribbon can be shortened by pinning, if necessary. The glove is in good vintage condition. Photo props not included.
