Original Real Pressed Flower Art Pressed Botanical Art Herbarium of Oriental Hellebore Lenten order Rose 11x14

An original real pressed flower art pressed botanical art herbarium of a Hellebore is pictured. This plant is also called Lenten Rose. The name Lenten Rose was given because they bloom around the beginning of Lent. This evergreen perennial begins blooming in my shade gardens in February, even when surrounded by snow. Give it a bit of sun and it rises to the order occasion. It continues blooming throughout April and forms huge clumps of foliage out of which dozens of these blooms rise.

The Hellebore botanical is especially elegant. In this cultivar, the flowers transition from a green to a burgundy as they mature. The creamy yellow stamens make a beautiful contrast against the burgundy petals. There is a large 3” diameter open bloom and 3 flower buds. The overall size of this botanical is 7.5” x 8.5.”

Garden Galleries botanicals are all mounted on identical white, cold press watercolor paper of the highest quality, unless otherwise noted in the description. This botanical is mounted on paper measuring 11x14 and can be displayed in a standard 11x14 frame with or without a mat. The mat in which it is shown measures 11x14 and has a mat opening measuring 7.5" x 9.5". This botanical can be purchased without a mat or with a 11x14 mat in white or vanilla.

This botanical is lovely as a specimen piece but also displays wonderfully with other botanicals in the shop. Keep in mind that botanical displays need not be limited to botanicals of the same size. If you would like assistance in putting a collection together, I am happy to help.

Although treated against causes of degradation, real pressed botanicals remain delicate. It is strongly recommended that UV-protective glass be used in framing and that the botanicals be displayed away from direct sunlight, strong artificial light and moisture.
