Gorgeous vintage French Gripoix Glass Pearl starburst/flower brooch! Circa 1925, this layered beauty has 19 elongated oval faux pearls in perfect symmetry. Brooch is a large and heavy burst of fashion!

DIAMETER: of Circular brooch is 55-60mm width. 2 1/4-2 1/2" INCHES
DEPTH: from top to brass plate is 25mm. 1" INCH.
from top to brass hinge pin clasp is 30mm 1 1/8" INCHES

Enough of the technical...this brooch caught my eye! From the start it was 'oh baby you are special'. I've order handled tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of pieces of jewelry. And when pieces are unique, particularly well crafted, spot on representation of a style.....it speaks to me no matter the $$$ value.
This brooch grabbed me.

Those Pearls!!! All still in excellent antique condition. Excellent.
Whether these are true Gripoix made, they are most definitely a French made faux pearl from the 1920s.
They are also weighty...
The brass hinge stem and clasp....are working well,some stiffness.. There is a '100 year' bend going on in the clasp areas. We recommend a gentle metal repair bending of the y base for further 100 years of wear.
Rollover Antique style clasp. No makers mark. Overall very good condition. Patina and slight wear in brass plate back as well as clasp.
