Two Georgian Chinoiserie Shell Form Serving order Plates – Celtic and Minton – Circa 1830

We have for sale two Georgian sweets dishes in shell form with Chinoiserie decoration. The first is by John Baxter ‘Celtic China' and painted with Chinese style flowers, the reverse has the printed ‘Prince of Wales' feathers mark with initials ‘JDB,' above a knot inscribed ‘CELTIC CHINA' and the pattern no. 356, Circa 1825.

The second plate is most likely Minton and has a lovely design featuring birds, flowers and butterflies. The reverse is marked with a hand-painted 89 and a cypher in red.

•Made in England
•Circa 1830
•Excellent condition – no chips or cracks. Some wear to the decoration on the Baxter plate.

•Both Plates about 9.25 inches in length
