Antique Marsden Bros. Ice Skates blades only, size 10 1/2" and marked "Oden" and No. 48, Marsden was purchased in 1898 and ceased making metal items under that name so we know they pre-date 1898, they were mostly known for making hand tools but became popular making ice skates for Queen Victoria. The mounts are not original I suspect since they appear to be made of aluminum however research indicates aluminum was being produced in quantities by 1878 and though not especially rare they order would seem a natural for use to reduce weight on skates but I can find no examples online to support this theory.
