Woven silk and brass order earrings

Large brass discs, 1 2/3 diameter, are cut from brass sheet metal and textured with a crosshatch design on top. The piece is antiqued to bring out the contrast between the soft golden sheen of the patinated brass and the darker lines of texture. Four horizontal rows of different colored silk cord are woven into the design. It is domed slightly convexly and hangs from handmade gold-filled ear wires at 1 2/3 inches in length.

A light satin sealant is brushed on the brass (but not the silk) to protect the finish and is safe on the skin. Handle with order care to avoid surface scratches, even though the sealant is very protective, and do not wash. Storage in a small plastic bag is recommended for the best care over time.
