Product code: John Le Carre’s “A Perfect Spy,” Stated First Edition, 1986 Book, NF. Spy Thriller Book First order Edition.

A 1986 first edition of John Le Carre's “A Perfect Spy.” HC with DJ, both NF condition, published by Knoff, through the Borzoi imprint.

Excellent for Le Carre fans, or fans of one of the greats of spy fiction. This is a stated first edition of the “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy,” and “The Spy Who Came in From the Cold,” author's “A Perfect Spy.” Le Carre is considered the master of Cold War spy fiction, and for good reason.

This is one of his lesser-known works, but one he very obviously poured his heart (and himself, as it's a semi-autobiographical novel) into. This is a first edition of a run of 350,000, and it's in beautiful shape.

“Immersing readers in two parallel dramas — one about the making of a spy, the other chronicling his seemingly imminent demise — le Carre offers one of his richest and most morally resonant novels.Magnus Pym — son of Rick, father of Tom, and a successful career officer of British Intelligence — has vanished, to the dismay of his friends, enemies, and wife. Who is he? Who was he? Who owns him? Who trained him? Secrets of state are at risk. As the truth about Pym gradually emerges, the reader joins Pym's pursuers to explore the unsettling life and motives of a man who fought the wars he inherited with the only weapons he knew, and so became a perfect spy.” order
