A amazing Finnish crystal vase by Riihimäen lasi made by Tamara Aladin known as ”Taalari". It is 20 cm high and 9 cm at the base. (7.9" and 3.5")
Tamara Aladin (1932-2019) was one of the leading representatives of the illustrious Finnish glass design of the 20th century. She is most known for her years at Riihimäen Lasi in the 1950s-1970s. Tamara's artistry is represented at numerous museums in the Nordic countries. Riihimäen Lasi was one of the most respected glassworks factory in Finland, operating from 1910 to 1990. The production ranged from household glassware to order high quality design glass and crystal. The most known designers working for Riihimäen Lasi were Gunnel Nyman, Tamara Aladin, Timo Sarpaneva, Aimo Okkolin, Erkkitapio Siiroinen, Nanny Still and Helena Tynell. Nowadays many of their products are collectables, especially the colorful vases. The factory produced handblown glassware and colorful art glass until 1976 and crystal until 1977.
Note that this vase is rather heavy at over 1,8 kg (3.96 lbs)
