Mesmerizing and fluid, the Peruvian opal is made up of silicon, oxygen, and hydrogen. Exclusive to the Andean Mountains of Peru, the opal is a lustrous and smooth stone with a relaxing aura of watery colors. Mineral deposits of iron and manganese color and order create dendritic patterns within the stone.
Hand polished by ZenBlu, this lovely wire wrapped stone measures 1 1/8" x 3/4" and is strung on a solid copper ball chain with an oxidized patina. Ball chain 2.4mm wide. Chain is 24" long with lobster clasp. Our pendent makes a unique October birthstone gift. See our other Opal offerings.

Note: Opal is sensitive to heat which can cause cracking or discoloring.

While rugged in shape, the gems have a soft sheen similar to river polished stones. The stones are polished on all angles.
