Although these prints are captured in a digital format, the creation process is a painstaking effort typically requiring several months of research. There are no shortcuts or copy-pasting. Everything you see has been constructed from scratch in a digital order environment using original plans obtained from the ship builder or design agent.
All prints are plotted on durable matte finish polypropylene film which will not distort or yellow with age.
All prints are unframed and are shipped rolled in tubes.
This print captures the S/S UNITED STATES, the fastest ocean liner ever constructed. The brainchild of self-taught naval architect William Francis Gibbs, the S/S UNITED STATES was constructed in 1952 with two roles in mind; one as a transatlantic liner, and one as a troopship. Her 200,000 SHP quadruple screw steam propulsion plant gave her a trials speed of 38 knots. She was the last ship to capture the coveted Blue Riband. Her speed records stand to this day.
