order Vintage Compact Niagara Falls Souvenir Book Style
This amazing little vintage compact was a souvenir from Niagara falls in the 1930s or 1940s. Made to look like a tiny book bound in deep brown leather! The front cover is decorated in a hand painted, full color scene of Niagara falls with the words Niagara Falls painting diagonally on the bottom right corner. The edges of the book are shiny gold tone brass. The inside holds a gold framed metal mirror inside the cover and the base holds two make up wells or pans. The first pan is filled with the original loose face powder and the second is filled with bright pink rouge both with their original powder puff applicators.
Measures 2 3/4" x 2 1/8" x 1/4". This antique compact is in good vintage condition but does have a some areas with light tarnish on the metal. The leather is in good condition but you can see a bit of age in the binding area age spots in areas on the leather. The painted cover is still clear and bright. The mirror is still very reflective but does have a few dark spots. Both powder puffs are clear and look to have only been slightly used.
This wonderful antique compact is truly unique and will make a wonderful addition to your vintage vanity or Niagara Falls collection!
