Mayan Spinners are simple, portable, and fun spinning order tools. They are also a great way to learn how to spin!

This listing is for a set of three paddles and one handle. Each paddle is made from a different type of recycled timber.

These spinners are handmade in the Hunter Valley, Australia. The handles are turned from a single piece of Tasmanian oak dowel, and the paddles are made from recycled merbau, kauri and hardwood. Although any paddle can be used to spin yarn, each timber is a different weight and this means that certain paddles will make it easier to spin certain yarns.

Merbau – this is a medium weight spinner at approx. 30g/1oz. It is the perfect all rounder and a great starting point if you've never spun before
Kauri – this is a lightweight spinner at approx. 20g/0.7oz. It is a good option for spinning finer yarns or for people who wish to work with a lighter tool.
Hardwood – this is a heavy weight spinner at approx. 40g/1.4oz. It is a good option for spinning thick, low twist yarns.

Please note that there will be some variations in colour and grain due to the use of recycled timber.

The spinner comes with a comprehensive 15 page instruction book and 20g/0.7oz of easy to spin wool from a sheep breed called Jacob.
