Authentic Rose Rydings Portrait Vase Pitcher by Rozart Studio, Ruffles the Kitten, Hand painted Signed Art Pottery, Royal order Line #1109C1174

This is an authentic Rozart Studio art pottery pitcher decorated and signed by Rose Rydings, one of the founders of Rozart. This piece is stamped on the bottom in the clay with the Rozart seal and the initials TM, who might have been the potter. It is marked Royal for Rozart's Royal line and it is numbered 1109C1174. On the front is an adorable kitten, who Mrs. Rydings would have hand painted, and the back side is titled "Ruffles" and signed RRydings. The pitcher stands 9 3/4 inches tall and is 4 3/4 inches at the bottom base. If you measure across the top from spout tip to outer edge of the handle it is 6 1/2 inches. I have examined this pitcher order and noted several small glaze flakes at the edge of the spout and a light scratch in the glaze on the bottom of the handle. There is a spot of the darker brown glaze within the lightened area near the kitten that is under the glaze. There is no other damage or repair noted.
I sent photos of this piece, including the condition issues, to a professional appraiser specializing in art pottery and who has sold other Rozart pieces, and he valued this piece at up to $150.
The Rozart Studio is well known for their Twainware and for their pieces featuring Native American Indian portraits. With adorable pictures like Ruffles I'm sure this line will one day garner nearly the same values as some of their Twainware.
This piece can be used in your décor alone or you could place dried plant fronds in it. It would add height to a staged décor arrangement on a shelf or mantel. Great gift for a cat lover, cat collector, or crazy cat lady.
