Studio pottery. A ceramic sculpture titles Bichos de ceramica by Brazilian ceramic artist, Chico Ferriera. Chico Ferriera is best known for his large outdoor sculptural pieces and murals but has produced two series of Bichos de Ceramica, or Ceramic bugs. The 'bugs' are more akin to wingless birds as this example is. While little is known about South American art pottery in Europe Ferriera order has exhibited in Germany, Spain France, Portugal and Italy. He runs a studio and atelier in Paraibo, Brazil.

The piece is in excellent condition with no damage to report. The bichos stands on two tiles and is signed and dated (1994) in one corner of the top tile. The piece stands around 5" tall and the base is 4" x 4".
