An antique history book that is profusely illustrated with stunning plates in both black and white and in full-color, as well as countless smaller black and white drawings throughout the text. The first half of this book is full of full-page and full-color maps, portraits, and drawings.
It contains the Historical context of Roman Military Affairs, The Life of Julius Caesar, Military Pursuit of Gaul, Britain and Germany, The Gallic War, The Civil War, Cornelius Nepos and The Life of Hannibal, and much more! Some of the text in this Historical half of the book is in Latin, or has Vocabulary Words italicized in Latin.

The second half of this book is focused on the review and study the Latin Language. It is complete with a Grammar section, Essentials of Grammar, Sentence Structures, Exercises in Latin Composition, Vocabulary Lists in both English to Latin and Latin to English, English Pronunciations of Proper Names, as well as a Grammatical Index. This half of the book is primarily in the Latin Language, with sections and Vocabulary in English.

Bound in an olive green cloth with strong boards. This copy has a tight and secure binding. It seems to be free of markings, except for a name on the first blank page, written in pencil. The colorful plates are beautiful, and scattered throughout the book. The pages are in exceptional Measuring approximately 7.75” tall. This is a lovely book and this copy is especially stunning. It would make an excellent addition to any book lover's bookshelf.
