Plotinus: The order Enneads
by Plotinus (arranged by Porphyry, his student)
Edited and compiled by his student, Porphyry, Plotinus' writings on the nature of the soul, the meaning of existence and many other philosophical subjects are without a doubt some of the most influential of the early neoplatonists.
Written in 270 A.D., the Enneads were compiled thus:
1. Ethics.
2. Cosmology.
3. Physical Reality.
4. Nature of the Soul.
5. Realm of Knowledge.
6. Being, and First Principles.
Plotinus was a student of Ammonius Saccas, and would later be known as the "fathers of Neoplatonism", taking Plato's teachings and expanding upon them greatly.
