In Charles Dickens novel, "A Christmas Carol," Mrs. Fezziwig is the wife of the young apprentice to Ebenezer Scrooge, who is Scrooge's idea of the perfect business partner. The Ghost of Christmas Past leads Ebenezer to a well-remembered Christmas party Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig hosted for their employees, who are treated as family.

Madame Alexander has dressed Mrs. Fezziwig in grand Christmas attire with those billowing side panels so popular in the Victorian era. Edging of Christmas plaid trim bands set the panels apart from the body of the dress, which is sewn of the same fine satin acetate fabric. The fabric is a red leaning toward rose, and has a moire, undulating linear and swirl pattern, affected by the way the light plays over the surface (seen in silk and some ribbon.) The presence of both soften the look. Added sophistication is achieved by the scalloped needlepoint lace overlay. Generous puff sleeves are gathered above the elbow, and have a thin, green satin bow at the transition to the same needlepoint lace, creating a scallop at wrist. Her fashionable coordinating bonnet has a central embroidered holly accent and gathered lace trim is dipped in metallic gold. All Mrs. Fezziwig's undergarments and her neckline edging have the same gold edged lace. Metallic gold is also employed in her shoes and bodice details, creating a sumptuous impression! A true classic from the 1990's Madame Alexander tradition in design and concept, she is perfect for the coming holiday season.

MY MISSION: I provide a doll for you that is fully ready for display on arrival at your home, beautiful and sturdy. Any flaws I detect which I could not remedy will be documented in the listing and doll priced accordingly. I keep extensive computer files on each listing with doll and box images.)The boxes, being the original homes for the dolls, are in variable condition, dependent on the original owner's care and storage. I will always mention box condition with the listing, or sleep eyes that open manually.

MY PROCESS: I remove from the box to re-style the hair and inspect/correct for anything that might be remiss. I feel this step is more important than listing "never removed from box." There are a few noteworthy exceptions, when I SPECIFICALLY KNOW THE HISTORY of the doll and habits of original owner. My patrons will know there will be no loose snaps, no tangled locks, damaged apron strings, no fragile, weakened rubber bands, ( I re-string when needed) no stained or faded clothing or problems with undergarments, no necklaces trapped in the neck or tresses. I restring with elastic cord, the preferred archival choice of "doll doctors."

MY PRICES: I calculate on: How readily available (or, conversely, hard to find,) whether complete with all accessories, my costs, my labor, condition of restored doll returned to box after completing the work. To include a doll stand with your order, please add $1.00 to your total.
