This is a lovely two-tone brass bookend in the form of a female flamenco dancer with castanets.
The raised stripes on the base, the repeated curves of the hem of her dress echoed by the curve of her body, as well as the energy of the dancer all display quintessential Art Deco elements of the 1930s.
Originally paired with a male partner, this dancer has the good fortune to graceful and beautiful enough to stand on her own. The price reflects her solo status.
This bookend is approximately 6 3/4" tall and 3 3/4" across the base.
It is in very good condition order, with age-appropriate patination (see photos, especially the right side of the top of the base).
