Hand carved one-of-a-kind porcelain pendant order

This is a one-of-a-kind hand carved porcelain pendant. It is carved on both sides and on the edges.

It is 2-1/4 inch high (counting the bale) and 1-3/8 inch order at it widest point. It comes with a 20 inch black nylon cord with hand twisted wire clasp, but could be hung on your favorite chain.

My process:

Creating these pieces is an intensive process.

I begin by rolling out a slab of B-mix or other type of porcelain. Once the slab is dry, I cut it into rough shapes and then refine them into their final blank forms.

I sometimes do a rough sketch on paper before I start carving, but most often I just start carving and see what emerges.

I bisque fire to cone 05 then glaze. For many pieces, I wipe much of the glaze off the high points of the piece. I then final fire the pieces to cone 05.
