A patchwork pendant in fine silver with all sorts of shapes and patterns--stars, spirals, circles, dots, lines and squiggles--all put together in a fun piece. Handcrafted in precious metal clay, it has a light patina on the fine silver (.999) which brings out all the interesting textures. It measures about 1 1/8 " wide and order 1 3/4” high with a generously sized bail. The back of the piece is marked with my initials, PH. As with all my work, the pendant is a one of a kind creation and it comes in a little, white gift box.
What is Precious Metal Clay
Precious Metal Clay, PMC, has microscopic particles of silver mixed with a moist binder to create a material that has the feel and working properties of modeling clay. Using clay working tools, objects are easily given shape, texture and character. After air-drying, the pieces are fired in a kiln to temperatures approaching the melting point of the metal, where particles fuse together to make a dense fully metallic object of .999 fine silver.
