Product code: Native order American-Diné Style-Sterling Silver (Face of Ring 1.25”, Size 8.5) Unsigned

This is a sterling silver Navajo design accented by bezel set Mother of Pearl cabochons. The ring is in lovely vintage condition and is a size 8.5. The face of the ring is significant measuring 1.25”. It is order a bold native design.

The ring has been crafted in traditional “Diné Style” which simply means Navajo style. This style, with its sweeping feathers, wire work and mil-grain accents was popularized from 1965-1980. It is unique to the Navajo silversmithing community. It is also a hallmark of innovation and attention to detail Navajo silversmiths employed during this period.

During this time, Native American jewelry was the height of fashion. It was worn with the bohemian fashions of the day. It was also quite expensive. Larger elaborate Diné pieces became a status symbol and a mark of one's accumulated wealth.

Today the Diné Style has seen a resurgence in popularity. Trend setting women are wearing native designs in ever increasing numbers. The reason for this resurgence is evident, the quality of artisan craftsmanship, the beauty of the designs and the obvious connection to the natural world.

This stunning design is a bit unique for it incorporates cabochons of white Mother of Pearl not the traditional turquoise. It will pair perfectly with all your sterling silver Southwestern jewelry designs.
