Karakusa Arabesque Flowers in Stripes, Light Blue and Green with Pink Flowers on Warm Cream order Silk Satin Haori Kimono Jacket, What a pretty haori in great colors for spring It's rinzu a mostly.
What a pretty haori, in great colors for spring! It's rinzu, a mostly satin fabric with a woven pattern that is subtly matte from the use of crepe-spun thread. In this haori, the woven pattern is barely visible, comprised of interlocking elongated hexagons, reminiscent of a tortoise shell (a traditional motif that signifies long life, since tortoises life so long). The woven pattern adds just a subtle bit of visual interest, breaking up the understated gleam of the satin. This is not a limp satin, perhaps because of the use of crepe-spun thread, and it's not as lightweight as a shibori haori, which are often made of a lighter rinzu. This haori is in very good vintage condition, with no observed problems.
It is about 48.5 inches at the waist with perhaps a bit more at the hips; it measures 51.2 inches from sleeve to sleeve, and approximately 33.1 inches from shoulder to hem. Haori are meant to be worn open, and the sleeves are often between bracelet length and 3/4 length, not necessarily to the wrist.
If the thought of kimono sleeves dangling would keep you from wearing one, I now offer to alter them: https://www.etsy.com/listing/517438066/kimono-sleeve-reduction-alteration?ref=shop_home_active_17

I am no expert on kimono or fabrics, just a fiber artist with a deep love of beautiful textiles. But I have been collecting and working with kimono for a number of years, so feel free to ask any questions you might have and I will tell you what I can.
I have fibromyalgia, I don't have the energy to iron, and this is vintage kimono fabric which has been stored for years. I have not noticed any stains or spots beyond those stated, but it may have age- or storage-related imperfections. When I find these, I state them. As is normal with vintage items, this item is sold as is.

I don't accept returns unless the item has been order grossly misrepresented, but please let me know if you are unhappy with it when you receive it. If there is a problem, please contact me before leaving negative feedback. I prefer to have happy, satisfied customers! Thanks.
