CRETAN Honey with THYME

It is considered to be of excellent quality, honey.  It is in bougainvillea, but in fact, it is a special category because of its intense aromatic and flavor characteristics.  Its look is particularly attractive, so consumers usually prefer it.  But its great demand is also due to the fact that, if mixed with other types of honey  (even in small quantities), it definitely affects their aroma.  Its production is order about 10% of the total honey production in Greece.  The best areas for the production of thyme honey are the Greek islands, especially Crete. Flavor: Thyme honey has a pleasant taste, but sometimes,  due to its high concentration of fructose, it leaves a burning sensation in the mouth. Perfume: Strong aromatic honey. Color: Usually light amber.  (Thyme honey from Attica and Cyclades is more open than  the dark honey of Crete, which is dark orange.) Crystallization: This type of honey is sacrificed within 6-18 months. Nutritional value: Thyme honey is considered to have tonic and antiseptic properties.
