LAVENDER PRINT PRAIRIE PARTY DRESS girls size 10

The whole time I was creating this dress I kept thinking what fun it would be to go to a Prairie party in this costume. Parties were very special times on the Prairie--perhaps a house raising, a barn dance or a church social--these times were special occasion dress up times. Calico prints were just coming into vogue, ruffles were fun and dressy, lace and ribbons were saved for these special occasions. Most apparel was sewn by hand because sewing machines were very new. Bonnets were worn in the summer to ward off the sun and shawls or scarves were worn in the colder months for warmth. Niriah's Prairie Dresses are made very simply so a young girl of today can quickly dress up and get to playing and pretending. We can add different accessories to the dress to change the look. Bonnets, pantaloons, aprons, shawls, sashes, vests, etc, -- are all available For playing and pretending --Niriah's Costumes are fun.

This prairie/ Victorian dress is a beautiful lavender print. It has 2/3 length sleeves. The neckline has a ruffled stand up collar. The sash defines the waist. It is white with a pink ribbon trim

The skirt is adorned with the same ribbon trim above a white ruffle.

All seams have been machine stitched and serge finished for strength


the fabric has been prewashed to prevent shrinkage and set the color
wash in cool water and dry on warm.
