The Flipbook Museum, established in 1987, is dedicated to the preservation of the history of hand-held animation from the intricate carvings of Bronze Age earthenware to the earliest experiments in stop-motion by wildman Edweard Muybridge. All flipbooks are historically valuable from the bawdy mutoscopes of disreputable saloons to the intricate, three dimensional puzzles of the modern era. Each item sold in the Flipbook Museum gift shop is a part of our vast collection of out-of-print rarities. They are all hand-picked by our curators who are committed to the joys of thumb cinema.
