A rustic leather sketchbook...

The leather cover is a gorgeous thick rustic leather - the kind that improves as it is handled and used. I love this leather and use it for my own journals. It has a smooth matte texture and it is a nice chocolate brown color. There is a matching leather tie that has been sewn to the front. It wraps around the book a couple of times to keep your writing or artwork contained. The book is bound with dark brown waxed linen thread.

It is a fat book, filled with acid free 70 lb. artist drawing/sketch paper - a nice midweight artist paper. Each page has been hand torn for those nice deckled edges. To add to the rustic look of order this book, I have mixed in some off-white, textured handmade lokta paper. The wispy rough edges peek out between the white pages. There are 232 pages (including both sides) of the sketch paper and an additonal 24 pages (both sides) of the lokta paper - 256 pages in all.

The book measures 5-1/2" wide by 7-3/4" high. The pages open out to a 10" span. I have a larger version of this journal too - check the blank journals section of my shop.
