Large vintage wood and metal brooch by artist A Ramsay in the shape of order a Sailfish.

This beautiful brooch is quite a show stopper.

The outline, fins and tail are handcrafted in a silver coloured metal with two colours of wood as the body.

There is a brass rod inserted to the wood to create an eye.

The wooden body is beautifully attached to the metal framework by a series of small pins which are driven through the metal frame and into the wood.

There us very little on line about this artist but it is most certainly a handmade piece given the skill and intricacy of the manufacture.

The brooch is 110mm long and 55mm at its widest. The depth of the brooch is 4mm plus the pin.

There is a roll-over clasp pin on the reverse of the brooch. The piece is marked on the reverse by the artist A Ramsay.
