Antique FLOW BLUE COPELAND SPODE TOWER 10.75 in RECTANGLE OPEN DISH
Wonderful Flow Blue Copeland's "Spode's Tower" pattern with lovely old scenery, trees, a bridge, a castle and floral patterns cover the entire pieces.
The Tower Pattern, a favorite since c. 1780, shows a scene reputedly on Spode's estate, done in the Chinese manner. Tower pattern was introduced c1814 and was derived from a printed illustration (left) in the book by Merigot 'Views of Rome and its Vicinity' published c1796-1798.
The border is English and the Gadroon shape is taken from 18th Century English silver.

It has three more older incised marks, pic. 10, 11.
Impressed mark indicates date: F over 14, gave us a date of February 1914,

Measurements approximately: 10 3/4" - Long x 7 7/8" Wide x 1 3/8" high
STAND IS NOT FOR SALE.
CONDITION: we did not find any chips, cracks or repairs. A little shelf wear to the bottom, One area on the reverse has age points, pic.12. A little very minor surface scratching, hardly noticeable in close inspection. Overall very good condition for 100+ years of piece.
