European Sterling Fine Filigree Butterfly in order Profile Brooch

This sterling silver butterfly brooch has order a very unusual sideways profile. The filigree work is very delicate and precise. Fine silver wire has been wound into coils and woven into the framework of the butterfly wing. This brooch may have been fashioned in Portugal or the area around Greece. Length is 2 3/4” by 1 1/2” width. Excellent vintage condition.
