This listing is for an extra large Mexican silver hinged pin or broach in the shape of a mother lion and her cub. This vintage sterling silver pin was made in the early 1980's in Taxco, Mexico. The hollow form pin is a figural of either a lioness and her cub or of a marsupial and her baby. The artist made the baby dangle from the mother using a pin inserted into the main part of the broach. The total length of the pin is 4-1/2 inches and it is 2 inches wide. The pin weighs 30 grams. The pin is order marked on the back "Mexico TS-74" with the T standing for Taxco and the S standing for the initial of the artist's last name and 74 is the maker's registration number. It is in very good vintage condition consistent with age and use. There is some minor surface wear and oxidation. This unique estate piece will make a nice addition to your broach collection.
