order This fun lithographed tin paint box shows Donald Duck painting a picture of Mickey Mouse and one of his nephews. The name on this box is "Donald Duck Paint Box". Under the name, being held by two of Donald's nephews, is "copyright symbol 1946 - Wald Disney Productions". This is in very small print between their feet. The background of the box is cherry red. Each segment of the divided lid has a picture done by Disney in many bright and cheerful colors. The inside of the box is off white. The box contains the original paints. The cardboard under the paint is marked "copyright symbol Walt Disney Productions" at the very bottom. This can be seen in picture #9. It also comes with a wooden paint brush. I am not sure if this is original. These are water color paints. The box is 8" wide x 3-1/8"" deep x just over 1/2" tall. It is from 1946.
This paint set was used. There are some paint drops on the cardboard. The cardboard has yellowed a bit. The lid has a couple of nicks to the litho. The box bottom has it's red/brown color, but it is worn. There are a couple of nicks to the off white paint on the inside lid from hitting the bottom when closed.
