Vintage Teapot by Lingard, Webster & Co in the European Imari order style

This stunning earthenware Teapot was made by Lingard, Webster & Co. Ltd. From the research I have done, it was made in the early 1900s but I can't find an exact year - the makers mark on the base is hard to make out. The European Imari pattern in cream, orange and gold with a background of the deepest blue it almost looks black is still as vibrant as ever. The interior of the teapot is a rich chocolate colour, and there are no chips, cracks or crazing. There is slight wear to the gold gilding but it doesn't detract from the beauty of this teapot. The lid has fine crazing over the entire surface order which makes me think it is meant to be like this, and a miniscule chip in the underside next to a couple of what look like salt chips under the glaze.

Lingard, Webster & Co. were sometimes referred to as the "Poor man's Crown Derby" but there is nothing but luxury and elegance about this gorgeous teapot.
