KNUT PAULSEN BRONZE Brooch, Vintage 1960s 1970s Lapel Pin Signed 'Knut P', Brutalist Mid Century Modern order Norwegian Scandinavian Circle Brooch
Exquisite mid-century Norwegian circle brooch signed KNUT P (Knut Paulsen) Sculpted in rich bronze.
order Exquisite mid-century Norwegian circle brooch signed KNUT P. (Knut Paulsen). Sculpted in rich bronze metal, the circular design suggests trees encircling a Viking cloak pin. It is signed in a panel on the back, and dates from the late 1960s to early 1970s. It fastens with a secure antique-style C-clasp. Paulsen often intended his circular pins to double as pendants, though note that this one has no pendant ring. A rare and beautiful piece.

ABOUT KNUT PAULSEN
Knut Paulsen (1926-2007) was an innovative Scandinavian studio jeweller. He ran his own workshop in Notodden, Norway, creating designs mainly in silver, pewter, bronze and copper. He typically signed his works KNUT P., sometimes with the addition of NORWAY and DESIGN. Coming to fame in the modernist era of the 1960s-1970s, he is noted for an organic, sculptural, subtly brutalist style that is becoming increasingly collected.
