James Thomson was a Scottish poet and playwright best known for his masterpiece The Seasons. Condition Report: In a full calf binding with gilt stamping to the spine. Externally, smart with slight rubbing to the joints and to order the head and tail of spine. Several marks to boards also. Front hinge to front endpaper is slightly strained but firm. Evidence of bookplate removal to front pastedown. Prior owner's ink inscription to recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age toned, particularly to the edges. The odd spot throughout. Overall: Very Good
