Beautiful Vintage Japanese Arita Cobalt Blue and White Hand Painted Porcelain Dish. Signed by the artist. The plate has a barbed rim. Has a beautifully painted Three Friends of Winter theme in the center. The wide barbed border band is very rich with details including 4 swirled landscape panels with people engaged in different activities with flowering trees, water, mountains, temples and more. Other smaller swirled panels include cherry blossoms and geometric patterns. Lots of great subject and textural interest. It has an artist signature in blue underglaze on the back. I have not been able to identify it. It also has a blue band under order the bowl curve. Circa Early to Mid 1900s. Japan. Approx. 12.5” Diameter X 2.2” Tall. Very Good to Excellent previously owned vintage condition. May have signs of age or use, but I did not see any worth noting other than a few light scratches that look like they are from storage stacking and some dirt under the foot. See the photos.
