RARE German Composite Candy Container, Duck in Egg with order Coil Tongue, Vintage 2 Piece Pulp Figural Paper Mache Box, Easter Decoration

This is a very funny and early German candy container that is hollow with a removeable head. The duck's metal spring coil tongue is in constant motion, echoing a silent quack as he waddles with a pink half egg stuck to his rear end! He has a goofy expression, and eyes are slightly googly when viewed face on. It is molded from compressed pulp material that has a smooth hard surface with a hand painted matte finish. It measures 5.5" x 5.5" x 2" Because of its age, there are some condition issues order to note: Chipping of paint on beak, and cracking of paint inside beak and on foot. Light surface soiling. Coil tongue has a stretched area and is rusted at the tip. Please examine photos with care. None of these flaws detracts from this whimsical and fun figural as a rare, display-worthy piece.
