There are only a handful left of the fine old merry go rounds , crafted before the advent of plastics and loudspeakers.

I sketched this beautiful merry go round in the East Bay's Tilden Park, its magnificent carved horses frozen in mid-gallop, their eyes glittering order and nostrils flaring in fiery agony .
