This is a beautiful Victorian era book of literature. "The Works of Charles Lever" with illustrations. Volume 6. Charles James Lever (31 August 1806 – 1 June 1872) was an Irish novelist and raconteur. Printed in 1882 order by P. F. Collier, New York. 576 numbered pages. This volume contains two of Lever's works: "The Daltons" and "A Day's Ride." Dark green cloth bound hardback; approximately 10" x 7". Very nice illustrations throughout. Gold gilt and decoratively embossed. The page edges are tinted red. Some definite wear and scuffing on the cover along with a tiny tear on the spine. The pages are remarkably clean and unspotted. A previous owner's signature is penned on the inside cover-pages.
