Product code: Gallerymichel Aller Vale Devon order Pottery Chamberstick Candle Stick Holder Circa 1901-1920

This early Aller Vale piece, in rare candle holder form. In a sophisticated colour combination, the stylized floral design was produced and hand painted sometime between 1900 and 1920. Started in 1881, in the seaside town of Torquay in Devon, England, Aller Vale Pottery was in business until 1932. Applying Arts & Craft principles, from 1881 to roughly 1905, and the more common Mottowares from around 1897 to 1932.

Overall in good antique condition, with a fine crazing most noticeable over the lighter colours. Some natural glitches and hickeys, including some white pieces on the inside bottom, as well as a line of missing glaze along one edge, just over 1/4" or 8 mms long. There is also a darker areas on the top and order around the inside of the candle stick holder.

Measures 6.25" L x 4" W, insert for candle is .675" W x 1" deep
Signed Aller Vale 1055 N1
