Product code: Silver hafted pocket knife by very rare maker. — George Gillott of Sheffield, 1906 order
George Gillott ran a small cutlery firm from Brightmore Street, Sheffield. His output was dwarfed by most other Sheffield cutlers. Knives by Gillott are therefore quite rare finds. This knife has blades by George Gillott and solid sterling silver scales by Britton & Gould of Hatton Garden, London. The order two blades — a spearpoint and a pen — are both swaged and are tang stamped “G. Gillott Sheffield England”. The silver scales are hallmarked by the Sheffield Assay Office with the Britton, Gould & Co registered maker's mark and the date letter “o” for 1906. This rare and unusual knife is in excellent condition with both blades having snaps. Stock ref. 21399
