order This WWII era sweetheart bracelet contains the words "US NAVY" and the Navy seal. "Sweetheart jewelry first became popular during World War I. Wives, mothers, sisters and sweethearts waited back home while the men were fighting overseas. This sentimental jewelry was one of many things that soldiers either made or purchased, along with pillowcase covers, handkerchiefs, compacts, etc. In the case of a wife or “intended” it showed that she was “taken.” But most importantly, it served as a remembrance of what her sweetheart, brother, father or son was sacrificing while he was away."
The bracelet clip is in a "V" shape, referring to V for Victory, which was a slogan very popular during the WWII era. This style clasp makes for a strong interlocking mechanism!
The length of this bracelet is 6 ¾".
Condition: Excellent - ready to wear! Made out of sterling silver and recently polished. Please enlarge the photos for dimensions and details. Commensurate with age.
