Original antique map of the Counties of Lawrence, Mercer, Weaver, and Butler, Pennsylvania. Includes portions of adjacent counties in black and white. Original hand coloring of individual townships, with vibrantly detailed county borders.

From the New Topographical Atlas of the State of Pennsylvania by Henry F. Walling and O.W. Gray. Published by Stedman, Brown, & Lyon, Philadelphia, 1872.

Approx. 11-1/2" x 15-1/2" (map print area), 13-1/2" x 17-1/4" (sheet size)

Condition:
There is some minor darkening at the bottom right corner, however it is located within the margin and does not affect the map print area. Very good otherwise, with vibrant original color. It is a beautiful antique map for framing.

The $10 maps are often either newer maps from the early 20th century (1900s-30s) or 19th century cyclopedia maps (nice print quality, but typically on thin paper or tipped-in with a centerfold). The next step up includes gilded-age (1880-1899) atlas maps, which range in price from $15 to $40, depending age, size, and maker. Premium maps start at around $50 and go up from there. These maps are typically hand-colored, pre-date the American Civil War, and/or include unique and/or rare content.
