Vintage LARGE BRASS HORSE order Bridle Medallions, Pair of Large Brass Amulets on Leather, Clipper Ship Horse Head Bridle Brasses Decorative Strap

This is a terrific - and very large - vintage set of brass horse medallions and leather martingale for a horse bridle, harness or saddle. It is unique and rare because of the size of the brass medallions.

There are two striking and large brass medallions: one of a multi-sail clipper ship sailing on the water and the other of a horse head. Both are framed in thick brass circles.

The martingale strap is black leather and measures 14-inches in length X 5 1/8-inches across its widest point. Each medallion is attached by a leather loop threaded through the leather strap. At the top of the strap is a brass loop for hanging.

Both brass medallions are large, measuring between approx. 5-inches across and 5.5-inches in length.

Horse brasses are used for decorating harness gear and were popular in England in the mid-19th century.

This is a lovely aged piece with aged brass with rich a patina. Some wear that contributes to its overall vintage appearance order. Use to snazz up your horse's bridle or as a unique decor item to accent a fireplace ... or other rustic / equestrian setting.
