Description

Product Name: Cyanotype botanical art with silver ink drawing order - Freesias Captured by Marian Fannon Christian

A unique, one of a kind cyanotype print of Freesias embellished with original silver ink drawing.
Created on beautiful Bockingford watercolour paper. This is not a giclee print, it is an original Cyanotype.
It is offered unmounted or mounted ready for a 16x12 ins. frame of your choice. Please choose your option. Signed on reverse.

I have created the cyanotype in the traditional way and then drawn over it in silver ink to give the impression of the flowers having been captured.

In creating a cyanotype the final result is determined by many factors such as the time of day, when the position and power of the sun varies, the temperature and humidity, the mix of chemicals, the type of paper used and the length of development. No two are ever the same. That's what makes it exciting for me even after years of creating them!

The Cyanotype process was developed by Sir John Herschel in the 1840's and shortly after used by the pioneering female early photographer Anna Atkins. A method of photography using sunlight without the use of a camera.

Please note that colours may vary slightly when viewed on different order devices.
